How do open access (OA) books perform compared to non-OA books? Very well it seems! Publisher, Springer Nature, in collaboration with Collaborative Open Access Research & Development (COARD), have produced a white paper drilling into the data to reveal what we intuited but now know. Open Access books are downloaded more widely around the world than their non-OA counterparts and are cited on average 2.4 times more often.
Michael Robertson, one of the authors of The First into the Dark, participated in a conversation with Lee-Ann Whitten, an Education Officer at the Sydney Jewish Museum on the book and its significance to present day.
